About Ms. Broussard

Yulene Broussard, OTR/L, MS, is the founder and owner and Occupational Therapy Supervisor of Solaris Pediatric Therapy in Houston, Texas.

With more than 20 years of experience, Yulene has researched and practiced nearly every therapeutic intervention available with the goal of providing the most effective and comprehensive therapy programs possible. She started Solaris Pediatric Therapy to provide a place that nurtures the whole family so that parents and their children with sensory or special needs can grow together confidently and joyfully. In July 2022, Yulene transferred ownership of Solaris Pediatric Therapy to Courtney Sanderson (CCC-SLP) to focus on her personal health and family life.

After earning her Master of Science in pediatric occupational therapy at the Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, Yulene worked at the Nationwide Children’s Hospital, also located in Columbus. To further her skill set, Yulene received mentorship from Lucy Jane Miller, Ph.D., OTR/L, a leading researcher in the field of sensory processing disorder. She is also an advanced iLs (integrated listening systems) practitioner and is certified in Safe & Sound Protocol (SSP™), Brain Gym®, the SOS Feeding Approach, Rhythmic Movement Training, and QRI™ (quantum reflex integration). She also has been trained in DIR/DIRFloortime®.

Yulene has undergone traditional yoga training as well as Yoga for the Special Child® training with Sonia Sumar, the founder of the method. Yulene was inspired to offer yoga in her own clinic as a result of this training. Yulene believes that both parents and children can greatly benefit from the therapeutic benefits that yoga brings.
